The
Solid Waste Digester

The Solid Waste Digester is a verma composting system built from rotomould plastic. We have been using the same design for over ten years and our system is a very well proven low maintenance and environment friendly product.

All the solids from the toilet and kitchen sink (excluding dishwashers) are trapped on a bark filter where the worms break it down into compost.
The Solid Waste Digester is specially designed with a round ball to spread solid material evenly in the centre enabling the worms to work from the dry outside, into the moist centre.

There is no smell and the liquid is drained into a series of plant filters for secondary treatment.

The
Plant Filters

In the conventional on site waste water treatment systems aeration is achieved by electric air pumps forcing air into water. This is inefficient and expensive with mixed results.

Simple Waste Water Solutions plant filters have been designed as a method of secondary treatment.
The plant filters enable the primary treated waste water to be filtered and returned to an aerobic state by using the natural process of transpiration and evaporation through the Japanese pond plant Acorus Gramineus Ogon.

Though the filtration medium of bark which removes nitrogen, the root systems of the plants harbour the good bacteria.
This is all achieved in enclosed bins in a modular form so the system can be added to if needed, shifted to new sites, and at the same time protecting the environment.

Once the plants are established there is very little maintenance with weeding and the occasional thinning of plants.
The plant filters can be connected to any primary treatment system and can be retrofitted to aerated systems to eliminate air pumps where an existing waste water field is no longer operational.
The
Irrigation Field

The Irrigation Field is located after the Plant Filters.
This takes the secondary treated liquid and disperses it at one metre intervals above the ground.
The Netafirm emitters are pressure compensating and can operate at minimal head with gravity.

The
Short Drop

Our Short Drop with worm composting system is ideal for remote areas or water shortage situations as this does not require flushing. (popular with orchard owners)

This system requires only one plant filter to process liquid and the tiger worms decompose solids.
This composting toilet is very portable, easy to install and is good for the environment.
